After the fires that took place in portugal in the afternoon of 17 June 2017 that devastated a region and left 66 dead and more than 200 injured, the group went on a mission to help reforest and the area affected by the fires. They also had in Lisbon to work against food waste with refood, help in the collection and packaging of meals that will benefit the most disadvantaged.
About the NGO
The Association moradores de Ferraria de S. João is a non-profit organization, created to boost self-help through the valorization of its endogenous resources: people (know-how), natural and built heritage, as cultural praxes.
Portugal is located on the west side of the Iberian Peninsula, ideally positioned between Spain and the Atlantic ocean. Its geographic location along the Atlantic coastline is the reason why quickly became an ocean-bound country setting the stage for centuries of sea adventure and discoveries.
